I had the pleasure of working on the critically acclaimed National Film Board and artist Stan Douglas' 3D mobile app production entitled 'Circa 1948'.

For this project we researched archival photographs and footage to recreate two historically significant locations in Vancouver as they were in 1948. As a Lead Artist on the project I was tasked with creating a seamless, mobile game ready environment. This included

  • Manage artists to ensure assets are created with game engine principles in mind
  • Manage and organise the master file and monitor drawcalls
  • Modeling
  • Texturing
  • Lighting
  • Ensuring the assets and environments were believable and followed art direction

The two locations chosen for the project were the Second Hotel Vancouver and Hogan's Alley, both lost to time, but both significantly tethered to Vancouver's history.
